The lake of Idoli

The archaeological site of Lago degli Idoli is located on the Casentino side of Mount Falterona at an altitude of approximately 1380 metres above sea level. A total of 3,622 square metres of surface were definitively excavated with stratigraphic investigation, removing over 4,000 cubic metres of earth. The finds uncovered amounted to 14,111. 439 objects of major archaeological interest were handed over to the Superintendency for restoration in the dependent Laboratory, while another 13,672 were handed over to the Casentino Archaeological Group for restoration.
