Hall 5 – The Casentino in the Roman Age

In Hall 5, evidence from the Roman era is exhibited, through a layout that favours the functional over the topographical criterion. In fact, the showcases accommodate both artefacts related to the production of foodstuffs and materials for their consumption. The reconstruction of part of the thermal baths of Domo and the display of building materials draw attention to the Roman farm and its related services. Also on display in this room are finds from sites dating back to the end of the Roman period, with evidence of Gothic domination. Also in Room 5 are the showcases dedicated to the ancient funerary world, with space for the various types of burials found in Casentino: from burials in the capuchin style to inhumation and incineration.
